Glaze and Sip: An Immersive Creative Experience You Didn’t Know You Needed

Imagine walking into a vibrant space filled with music, laughter, and the soft clinking of clay tools. Around you, people of all backgrounds are rolling, pinching, shaping, and painting their way into a world of colour and texture. There’s a glass of wine or mocktail in one hand, a brush in the other, and a smile on every face.

Welcome to So Sick Lux Clay and Paint event, your new favourite way to unwind, reconnect with your creativity, and spend meaningful time with friends (or make new ones). Whether you’re an experienced artist or haven’t touched clay since primary school, this event is designed to be accessible, inspiring, and above all, fun.

In this guide, we’re giving you the full lowdown on what to expect, what to bring, and how to make the most of this one-of-a-kind experience.

The Concept: Where Clay Meets Community

Glaze and Sip isn’t a formal art class, and it’s not a rigid workshop either. It’s a creative experience designed for real people, people who want to explore without pressure, play without rules, and make art just for the joy of it.

It’s about tapping into that childlike curiosity we often lose in adulthood. Remember how fun it was to build things with your hands? That’s what this event is all about. You’re not here to create a museum-worthy sculpture (unless you want to!). You’re here to relax, create, sip, laugh, and connect.

What makes this event stand out is its community-driven vibe. You’ll be surrounded by like-minded people who are all here to try something new. Whether you come solo, with a date, or with your crew, you’ll find yourself part of a welcoming group where creativity and good energy flow freely.

What to Expect: The Experience Flow

To help you get a clear picture of the evening, here’s how a typical Glaze and Sip event unfolds:

1. Arrival & Check-In (15 minutes before start time)

As soon as you walk in, you’ll feel the vibe… relaxed, welcoming, and full of colour. You’ll be greeted by our hosts and directed to your seat or table. Grab a drink, put on your apron, and take a moment to settle in. This is your creative space for the evening.

2. Introduction (10–15 minutes)

Once everyone’s settled, our featured artist or facilitator will guide you through the basics: how to handle clay, simple techniques for shaping, and ideas for decoration. You’ll also see how the painting process works so you can start imagining your design.

Don’t worry if you’ve never touched clay before, our team is there to support and inspire, not to grade your work.

3. Clay Creation Time (45 minutes)

This is your moment to shape and sculpt. You can follow along with a suggested piece (like a small vase, incense holder, or mug), or freestyle and bring your own ideas to life. Want to make a funny face sculpture? A cute animal? A lumpy abstract? Go for it.

We provide all the tools, rolling pins, cutters, and more. All you need to do is let your hands and imagination take over.

4. Paint & Decorate (45 minutes)

Once your piece has taken shape, it’s time to add personality. We offer a variety of paints and textures, from soft pastels to bold metallics, sponges to detail brushes. Whether you’re going for minimal elegance or wild expression, this is your chance to make your piece pop.

Some people go all-in with colours and layers. Others take a subtle approach. There’s no right way, just your way.

5. Show & Share + Wind Down (15 minutes)

As the session winds down, you’ll have the chance to show off your creation (if you want to!), chat with other participants, take photos, and bask in that post-creative glow. Our team will help wrap up your piece so it’s safe to take home.

And of course, we’ll have a little photo moment for you and your masterpiece because memories like this deserve to be shared.

Taking Your Artwork Home

One of the best parts of On Clay and Paint? You leave with a tangible piece of your creativity.

Some clay dries quickly (especially air-dry clay), but we recommend letting your piece cure for 24–48 hours at home before handling too much. We’ll package it up safely for you and provide simple care tips at the event.

Why This Experience Matters

In a fast-paced, screen-filled world, hands-on creativity is more than just fun, it’s healing. Sculpting, painting, and making things with your hands can:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Boost focus and mindfulness
  • Reignite your sense of play
  • Encourage self-expression
  • Create meaningful memories with others

We’ve had guests say the event helped them reconnect with themselves. Others said it sparked a new hobby. For some, it was simply the most fun they’d had in months. That’s the magic of creative community and that’s what we’re here to build.
